Around the 40s, racism led original songs from black artists to be completely changed and sung by white artists just to conform to the white audience. This is considered “whitewashing” and very popular songs like «Louie Louie», «Tutti Frutti» or «Surfin’ USA» are a product of it.
We created a series of re-editions of the original songs performed by emerging black artists to bring back the lost black legacy.
